  • OUTREACH RUNS THE MONTH OF OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER

This outreach is a support project for Lorton Community Action Center.

Do you have any gently-used coats laying around that don't fit anymore? We are collecting clean, new or used coats, and new hats and gloves for all ages. You can drop them off at church any day in October or November.  Coats will be dropped of with LCAC to help families in the Lorton area.

  • OUTREACH RUNS the month of OCTOBER

“Let the children come to Me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.” Mark 10:14, ESV

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations.

How can you join us in spreading the joy of Christmas this coming season?

    • Pick up your shoe box from church on a Sunday in October.
    • Fill up your shoe box.  For ideas on what to put in your box and what not to include, check out GiftSuggestions.pdf
    • Have your children color and/or write on "Let's Be Friends!" sheet and include it in your box.
    • Attach and mark the label so they know the age and gender the box is for.  Labels will be provided to you when you pick up your box.  Labels also offer a way for you to give the necessary $10 donation per shoebox to provide for collection, processing, shipping and other project cost. You will also be able to track what country your box was sent to.
    • Once your box is filled, bring it back to SCC no later than last Sunday of October.  If you didn't pay the $10 for the shipping cost, you can also bring that with your box.  If you are unable to pay the $10, SCC will cover the cost.
